Tia Carrere's Forgotten Tomb Raider-Style Series Is Streaming for Free on YouTube

After almost three decades, Tia Carrere’s adventure series Relic Hunter has largely been forgotten to time. For fans of the show, however, it’s an underrated gem that deserves another look, and anyone can currently revisit the classic series on streaming for free.

Currently, all three seasons of Relic Hunter are streaming on YouTube for free with ad-support. The show is also available on Tubi, the free streaming platform, along with The Roku Channel and other outlets. With the series easier to watch than ever before, it’s a good time to revisit Relic Hunter. After drawing comparisons to Indiana Jones at the time of its release, the series is also comparable to Tomb Raider, and it could serve as an appetizer for the new Tomb Raider series that’s in the works at Prime Video.

Relic Hunter was created by Gil Grant, and it first debuted on Canadian television in 1999. The show ultimately spanned three seasons before concluding its run in 2002 after 66 total episodes. Tia Carrere (Wayne’s World) starred in the lead role, with the cast also including Christien Anholt (Malory Towers), Lindy Booth (The Librarians), Tanja Reichart (Wicked Wicked Games), Tony Rosato (Saturday Night Live), Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Louis Mandylor (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), and Crispin Bonham-Carter (Pride and Prejudice).

Carrere gave the series her all, often doing her own stunts for the show’s martial arts sequences. This helped make the series a fun watch for its era, though as for why it was not continued, it’s because it was not renewed when its original contract for 66 episodes officially concluded. It would go on to garner a cult following with fans still fondly remembering the three-season show.

Stream all three seasons of Relic Hunter on YouTube, Tubi, and other platforms.
