Story

Tomb Raider II Remastered is part of the Tomb Raider I-III Remastered collection, released on 14 February 2024 by Aspyr Media. This remaster of the beloved 1997 sequel brings one of the most acclaimed entries in the classic era to modern platforms with fully rebuilt visuals.

The sequel is widely regarded as the peak of the classic era, expanding on the first game with vehicle sections, new weapons including a shotgun and automatic pistols, and a wider variety of environments. The game opens with Lara pursuing the Dagger of Xian — a legendary weapon of immense power — to the Great Wall of China, before the trail leads through the canals of Venice, a sunken ocean liner, a remote Tibetan monastery, and beyond.

Like the other entries in the remaster collection, Tomb Raider II Remastered offers a one-button toggle between the new remastered visuals and the original 1997 graphics. Modern control options sit alongside the original tank controls, and the game includes full achievement support and performance improvements across all platforms.

The remaster preserves every level, secret, and cheat from the original while making the experience approachable for modern audiences. For many fans, this is the definitive way to experience one of gaming’s great adventure classics.
