Synopsis

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is a 2024 Netflix animated series developed by Powerhouse Animation, the studio behind Castlevania and Blood of Zeus. Written by Tasha Huo, the series picks up after the events of the Survivor Era game trilogy, following a more experienced — but emotionally scarred — Lara Croft.

The series follows Lara as she grapples with the aftermath of her traumatic experiences on Yamatai, in Siberia, and in Paititi. Having distanced herself from the people she loves, Lara throws herself back into the field, chasing down a powerful artefact of enormous destructive potential that has been stolen from her family’s vault.

The hunt takes Lara across multiple continents and into conflict with a mysterious new adversary, while forcing her to confront questions about her own identity — what it truly means to be a Tomb Raider, and whether the secrets her father kept were meant to protect her or the world.

Powerhouse Animation’s signature fluid action style lends the series a kinetic energy that complements the franchise’s core appeal. The show was praised for its strong character writing and the way it honours the game trilogy while broadening Lara’s world. Hayley Atwell provides the voice of Lara, bringing warmth and intensity to the role.
