Story

Lara’s transformation after the events of The Last Revelation is clear. She carries a darker and more cynical tone, distancing herself from her former life of tomb raiding. A troubling message from her old mentor, Von Croy, draws her to Paris. Von Croy has been working for the mysterious Eckhardt and is searching for one of five artworks from the fourteenth century known as the Obscura Paintings.

Upon arriving, Lara finds Paris in a state of fear. Von Croy is murdered, and she is quickly framed as the prime suspect. Forced into hiding, she begins a search for the truth. Along the way she meets Kurtis Trent, a tough and determined adventurer who shares her pursuit of Eckhardt. As Lara digs deeper into the mystery, she becomes involved in a web of underground factions, brutal killings, dark alchemy, and a long history of betrayal and vengeance.

Useful Bugs (All Platforms)

  • Replenish Oxygen Save and reload while underwater to fully restore Lara's air gauge.
  • Respawning Items Items in the Parisian Ghetto respawn after completing the Bouchard's Hideout section.

PlayStation 2

  • Level Skip During gameplay, go to Load Game, highlight any save file, and press R2+Square. Exit the inventory to skip to the next level.
  • Level Select Pause the game, hold L1+R2+Down+Triangle simultaneously, release, then quickly press Circle, Up, Square, Triangle, Right, Down. Level Skip and Level Select options will appear in the menu ring.

PC and Macintosh

  • Note No standard cheat codes exist for the PC version. Debug features (Flight, God Mode, All Weapons) require the third-party TRAODSCU utility or specific command-line parameters not included in the retail release.
