Lara Croft turns 30 this year, and 8BitDo is marking it with two controllers dressed for a trip back to the Lost Valley. The Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Edition covers the Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox and the Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad, and Game Outlet Europe is bringing both to the UK and EU from November 13, 2026.
The news came today from Game Outlet Europe, the Karlstad based distributor handling the range across European retailers and online stores. It’s an official Tomb Raider collaboration, not a fan colourway with a vaguely adventurous name. Each pad ships with its own themed charging dock, too, so you get something to look at when you’re not playing.
The Ultimate 3 goes broader. 8BitDo says it’s about the legacy of the full 30 years, the adventures, the discoveries and the heroine who carried the series across generations. It wears a warm orange finish with weathered artwork, and its dock has a big 30 stamped on it. Honestly, the Lost Valley pad is the one I’d want on my shelf. Anyone who remembers that T. rex reveal will get it straight away.
| The Ultimate 3 is officially licensed for Xbox. It works with Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One over 2.4GHz wireless or a wired connection. On PC you get a polling rate of up to 1000Hz, which is great news if you play twitchy shooters. There’s Bluetooth built in as well, so it’ll pair with mobile devices for gaming on the go. |
Both thumbsticks use TMR technology, which 8BitDo pitches as the end of stick drift. The Hall effect Impulse Triggers let you pick between two trigger stops, so you can shorten the pull for shooters and keep the full travel for racing. You also get two pro level back buttons for remapping. The UK price is £94.99 and the EU price is €109.99.
The Pro 3 is the more flexible of the two. It connects to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 over Bluetooth, 2.4GHz or wired USB. It hooks up to Windows over 2.4GHz or USB, to SteamOS over Bluetooth or USB, and to mobile devices over Bluetooth or USB. If you bounce between a Switch 2 and a Steam Deck, this is the one that makes sense.
It gets TMR thumbsticks too, plus Hall effect triggers and a smooth tactile D-Pad. On top of the usual layout there are extra R3 and L4 bumpers and two back buttons, so there are plenty of inputs to map. The ABXY face buttons are magnetic and swappable, so you can match the layout to Nintendo or Xbox style prompts. You also get 6-axis motion control on Switch and Steam, vibration and a turbo function. The Pro 3 costs £69.99 in the UK and €79.99 in the EU.
Both controllers work with 8BitDo Ultimate Software X and the Ultimate Software V2 mobile app. That’s where you’ll tweak button mapping and fine tune things to your own taste. It’s the same setup 8BitDo uses across its current range, so if you’ve owned one of its pads before, you’ll know your way around.
Game Outlet Europe says both editions should hit major retailers and online storefronts across the UK and EU from November 13. That puts them in the shops well before the holidays, which is clearly the plan. The franchise itself has sold over 95 million copies since 1996, so there’s no shortage of fans who might want one.
If you’re picking between them, it mostly comes down to your platform. Xbox players should grab the Ultimate 3. Switch, Switch 2 and Steam players will get more out of the Pro 3, and it’s the cheaper one too.
