Now in its ninth instalment, the mini-documentary series on the reimagining of Lara Croft’s debut shows how leopards and crocodiles will make combat in the Greek ruins significantly more varied.

In documentary videos, the men and women behind Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis continually reveal exciting background information about the upcoming adventure game. The ninth mini-documentary reveals that Lara Croft will not be the only one on the hunt in the ruins. Leopards stalk their prey and require quick reactions as well as the targeted use of Lara’s acrobatics. Crocodiles have a distinct advantage underwater, but remain equally dangerous on land.

Game Director Raul Siqueira describes reading enemy movements as an important part of combat. Players should continuously adapt their approach. Although Lara usually acts as the strongest force in the ruins, she must take the hunting behaviour of these additional animals into account.

This insight is the ninth episode of an ongoing mini-documentary about the game’s development. Previous episodes covered topics such as the redesign of Greece and Peru, antagonist Natla, as well as combat, progression, puzzles, traps, and traversal. The series thus traces step by step how Crystal Dynamics is modernising the 1996 adventure.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis reimagines Lara Croft’s first game. The archaeologist travels around the globe to uncover the secrets of Atlantis. Familiar locations, puzzles, and the battle against the T-Rex return with modernised mechanics. Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics plan to release the game on 12 February 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
