| Well, that’s a pleasant surprise. Yesterday, Sony aired one of its not Nintendo Direct-like at all State of Play broadcasts where the company revealed a bunch of new projects, as well as updated the status of others. Among the games that got an update was Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. It was announced last year as coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC with nary a mention of Nintendo Switch 2 in sight. Well, that changed last night when it was confirmed that the game will be coming to Switch 2—and it’ll be on the same day as all other platforms. Take a look: |
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will launch on February 12, 2026. If you hadn’t heard of this game until now, it’s another stab at remaking the original PlayStation/Saturn Tomb Raider. Legacy of Atlantis has revamped visuals and controls, as well as new story content. The only real concern is how much Crystal Dynamics and Amazon will deviate from the original in order to appeal to the so-called modern audience. Apologizing for Lara Croft has become something of a pastime for Crystal Dynamics. Just a couple years ago the company was battling against claims of censorship of the remake trilogy, for instance. We’ll have to wait and see if Legacy of Atlantis feels like a proper Tomb Raider adventure or not, but if nothing else, it’s nice that Switch 2 owners will get it along with everyone else.
