Actor Camilla Luddington has offered a practical piece of advice to Sophie Turner, who is stepping into the role of Lara Croft for an upcoming Tomb Raider adaptation (inset), and it has little to do with performance and everything to do with endurance.

Luddington, who voiced and performed motion-capture for Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider Survivor video game series between 2013 and 2018, recalled the physical toll of embodying the iconic adventurer. “Heating pads,” she said when asked what advice she would give Turner. “I did a lot of crazy stuff when I was filming [the video games].”

Reflecting on the demands of the role, she added, “I just remember being so sore the next day. I’m sure she already has a lot of heating pads on her. That would be… Yes, yes. Hot baths and heating pads.”

Turner, best known for her role in Game of Thrones, was cast as Lara Croft in September 2025 and began filming the Prime Video series earlier this year. Production briefly paused in March after she sustained a minor injury, with Amazon MGM Studios confirming that the break was a precaution to allow for recovery. Lara Croft was first introduced in the video game franchise.
